Eco Ms Appointed as a VBIS Enabled Partner

We’re proud to announce that Eco Ms is now an Enabled Partner with the Virtual Buildings Information System (VBIS) – a nationally supported, open-standard system designed to streamline how asset information is classified, searched, and shared across platforms.

Backed by the Victorian Government and included in both the Victorian Digital Asset Strategy (VDAS) and the Queensland Government Data & Information Guideline, VBIS is fast becoming a critical tool for the built environment.
And now, Eco Ms is part of the solution.

What Is VBIS?

VBIS provides a universal asset classification structure, assigning every asset type a unique VBIS Tag. This tag is recognised across systems – from BIM to CMMS, from building automation to digital twins – making it easier to find, link, and manage asset data in one connected ecosystem.A VBIS Enabled application supports this tagging structure and search syntax, allowing asset information to flow seamlessly between platforms.

Why It Matters

  • Reduces duplication by connecting data across disparate systems
Improves decision-making through a common language for assets
Speeds up mobilisation of building audits and asset registers
Aligns with emerging procurement and compliance standards
Supports digital handover and lifecycle asset planning

What This Means for Our Clients

  • Becoming VBIS Enabled enhances how we help clients manage and optimise their assets:
Smarter Asset Management – We bring together your asset data from multiple systems, giving you a single source of truth to make better decisions, faster.
  • Simplified Maintenance Planning – With VBIS tagging in place, scheduling and tracking asset service becomes clearer and more consistent – especially across large portfolios.
  • Future-Proofing Your Systems – As more governments and asset owners adopt VBIS, Eco Ms ensures you’re ahead of compliance and handover requirements.
  • Better Risk Management – Unified, up-to-date data helps reduce the risk of errors, oversights, and unnecessary costs due to poor documentation or legacy systems.

At Eco Ms, our goal is to take the complexity out of asset management – and becoming VBIS Enabled is another step in helping clients create high-performing, connected, and future-ready buildings.
